How to Stake Monad (MON)

Last verified:

1. What you need

  • Token: MON (the native token of Monad). Monad mainnet went live on 24 November 2025.
  • Wallet: Any EVM-compatible wallet — for example MetaMask, Phantom or Backpack — connected to the Monad Mainnet network.
  • Minimum stake: No strict minimum. Keep a little MON spare for gas fees.
  • Commission: Spectrum's Monad validator currently charges 15% on rewards. Confirm the live rate in the staking dashboard before delegating.

Delegation assigns your stake's weight to a validator while you keep ownership of your tokens. Monad uses a delegated Proof-of-Stake model.

2. How to stake MON

There are two ways to stake MON with Spectrum. Both are non-custodial and stake to the same validator — pick whichever you prefer.

Method 1 — Spectrum staking widget Easiest

Stake in a few clicks directly on our site, without hunting for the validator address. The widget already points at Spectrum's validator.

  1. Set up an EVM wallet. Install MetaMask (or another EVM wallet) and add the Monad Mainnet network. Save your recovery phrase offline, then fund it with MON.
  2. Open the widget. On our homepage, find the Monad card and click Stake Now. A staking window opens.
  3. Connect your wallet. Choose your EVM wallet and approve the connection.
  4. Enter an amount. Type how much MON you want to stake. Keep about 0.1 MON spare to cover gas fees.
  5. Confirm. Approve the transaction in your wallet. The widget delegates your stake to Spectrum automatically — there is no validator address to look up.

Method 2 — MonadVision dashboard

Prefer to stake from Monad's official analytics dashboard? You can delegate to Spectrum there too.

  1. Set up and fund an EVM wallet on the Monad Mainnet network, as above.
  2. Open the staking dashboard. Go to MonadVision (monadvision.com), Monad's staking and analytics dashboard, and connect your wallet.
  3. Find Spectrum. Search for Spectrum or open our validator directly: 0x4AC516577c0ca1E42E263CE0ff6eB526aF0DFF36. Confirm the address matches before delegating.
  4. Delegate and confirm. Enter the amount of MON to stake and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Your stake now supports Spectrum's validator.

3. Rewards

Monad pays staking rewards proportionally to your delegated stake. You can track accrued rewards in the staking dashboard and choose to compound them by staking your rewards, redelegate, or leave your stake in place. Your exact rate depends on network conditions; see the live estimated APY on the Monad card on our homepage rather than relying on a fixed figure.

4. Unstaking MON

Request unstaking from the staking dashboard. Monad's unbonding period is notably short — about one epoch, roughly 5.5 hours (occasionally up to two epochs depending on when you submit). After the withdrawal delay your MON becomes available to withdraw back to your wallet. There is no penalty for unstaking.

5. Risks

  • Non-custodial by design. Your MON stays in your wallet; Spectrum never holds it or your keys. Protect your recovery phrase.
  • Slashing not active today. Slashing is the confiscation of stake for validator misbehavior. Monad's design tracks slashable offenses, but automated slashing is not currently enabled. This may change as the network matures — check current Monad documentation.
  • Validator downtime. A validator that is offline earns fewer rewards, slightly lowering your yield for that period without affecting your principal. Spectrum runs 24/7 monitoring to minimize downtime.
  • Newer network. Monad mainnet is recent (launched late 2025). As with any young chain, parameters such as unbonding time and reward rates can evolve — confirm current details before you stake.

Not financial advice. Staking rewards are variable and never guaranteed — they depend on network conditions, total amount staked, and validator performance. Figures and parameters on this page were verified against official chain documentation on the date shown and can change. Always confirm current details in your wallet before staking. Spectrum Staking is non-custodial: your tokens stay in your wallet and we never take custody of them.
