How to Stake Oasis (ROSE)
Last verified:
1. What you need
- Token: ROSE (the native token of the Oasis network).
- Wallet: The official Oasis Wallet (web or browser extension). A Ledger hardware wallet is supported for extra security.
- Minimum stake: 100 ROSE — the minimum delegation on Oasis.
- Commission: Spectrum's Oasis validator currently charges 17% on rewards. Confirm the live rate before delegating.
Delegation bonds your ROSE to a validator that stakes on your behalf while you keep ownership of the tokens.
2. Stake ROSE step by step
- Open the Oasis Wallet. Create or import your account at the official Oasis Wallet. Save your recovery phrase offline.
- Fund it with ROSE. Withdraw at least 100 ROSE from an exchange to your Oasis address.
- Go to staking. Open the Stake section and choose to delegate.
- Find Spectrum. Search for and select Spectrum Staking, or verify our validator address
oasis1qzf03q57jdgdwp2w7y6a8yww6mak9khuag9qt0kd. - Enter an amount (≥100 ROSE) and confirm. Approve the Delegate transaction. You will receive your first rewards from the next epoch.
You can also review Spectrum's validator and delegate from the Oasis Explorer.
3. Rewards
Oasis distributes rewards each epoch (about 1 hour). Your first rewards arrive from the next epoch after you delegate, and accrue while your stake stays bonded. You can track them on the Oasis Explorer by searching your wallet address. Your exact rate depends on network conditions and the 17% commission; see the live estimated APY on the Oasis card on our homepage.
4. Unstaking ROSE
To withdraw, choose Reclaim / Undelegate in your wallet. Oasis then applies a debonding period of 336 epochs — about 14 days. During this window your ROSE earns no rewards and cannot be transferred. After 14 days the tokens return to your available balance.
5. Risks
- Non-custodial by design. Your ROSE stays in your Oasis Wallet; Spectrum never holds it or your keys. Protect your recovery phrase.
- Slashing applies on Oasis. Slashing is the confiscation of part of a stake for serious validator faults such as double-signing. On Oasis this is enforced, and delegators bonded to the offending validator share the penalty — so the reliability of your validator genuinely matters. Spectrum runs professional, monitored infrastructure specifically to avoid these faults. Routine downtime does not currently trigger slashing.
- 14-day exit. Because debonding takes about two weeks, plan ahead — your ROSE is illiquid during that period.
